Taiji has driven me to be a better athlete and a better leader, all the while keeping me grounded.

Teresa Wong was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, and began practicing Chinese martial arts at the age of 8. By chance a local taiji teacher recognized Teresa's talent and invited her to take a class. She immediately took to the sport, and by age 14 she was competing at international competitions.

She drew the attention of the Prince of Taiji, Chen Sitan, as the youngest, American taiji competitor to compete at the First World Traditional Wushu Festival in 2004. Under Coach Chen, Teresa became the first female, contemporary taiji athlete to make the US Junior Wushu Team. Now based out of Washington, DC, she still enjoys traveling and competing, but finds time to judge and teach as well. Only her training remains as her sole constant.
